Today's Activities | Today you will first visit the vast Tiananmen Square. Located in the heart of modern Beijing, the world's largest city square is an enduring symbol of China's national pride and a symbol of China in the world. It is embraced by many magnificent buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entry to the Forbidden City), Museums, government buildings and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum. Passing through the Tiananmen Gate, you will enter the splendid Forbidden City, the previous home to emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties. This "city within a city" is a World Heritage Site, renowned for its impressive royal architectures, with great square, halls and gates contrast with intricate halls, gardens, courtyards and quarters, and imperial legends. Forbidden City is a must-see to take a glance at Emperors' life. Your next stop will be the Summer Palace, the best preserved and the largest imperial gardens in China and one of Beijing's premier attractions. Today's Activities | After breakfast, we will drive you to Mutianyu Great Wall by car, nearly taking you 1.5 hours. Not as crowded as the nearby Badaling Great Wall or Juyongguan Great Wall, Mutianyu Great Wall is the superior place to enjoy the superb views of the Great Wall. This section of the Wall is fully restored, there are hand rails to help you up on the very steep parts. So as to avoid a very steep climb, you can take the cable car to the top of the wall and back down again. In the afternoon, you will drop by Changling Tomb, where Zhu Di, the Emperor of Ming Dynasty, and his queen were buried together. It's the first and largest one of the 13 Ming Tombs, and the best preserved royal cemetery in China. Today's Activities | The Temple of Heaven is your first stop today, which is the imperial altar for ancient emperors to worship the god of heaven. In ancient time, only the princes and dukes are accessible to it but now it is open to the public, so you can see citizens performing morning exercise or practicing Tai Chi in the park now. If you are interested in Chinese Tai Chi, you can learn to play with the locals. And if you are lucky enough, you will come across the worship performance at the Temple of Heaven. Xiushui Street, also named "Silk Street", is a cluster of the goods with Chinese characteristics. Apart from the traditional Chinese handicrafts, antiques, calligraphy, carpets...etc., there are aslo full of modern goods now. If you are a good bargainer, you can purchase the top-quality goods with the lowest price at here. It's the bargain hunter's paradise. After the visit, you will be transferred to take the high-speed train to another ancient capital-Xi'an. Today's Activities | Today's excursion starts with the incredible Terracotta Warriors. You will not only be attracted by thousands of life-size, vivid terracotta warriors in battle formation and bronze chariots and horses, but also be astonished that every figure differs in facial features and expression, clothing, hairstyle, and gestures. After the discovery of Terracotta Warriors, you will continue your journey to the Mausoleum of the Qin Emperor. Then you can enjoy the cultural relic exhibitions and chiming show at the Bell Tower, a classical building with carved beams and painted rafters. The Muslim Quarter is a fascinating area where you can find various ethnic shops. You can taste many attractive snacks and buy some interesting souvenirs which will not make you disappointed. It offers you a good insight into how the Muslim and Chinese components have integrated as well. Good point for self-funded activity: enjoying the Tang Dynasty Show in the evening. It includes two parts: the fabulous music and dance performance and chinese dumpling banquet, both indulging your eyes and tongue! Today's Activities | After breakfast, you will tour the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built in the year 707 AD during the Tang Dynasty. Climbing the pagoda not included. And you will take a rough travel of the Xi'an Museum. Xi'an Museum is well known for its cultural treasures displayed in the exhibition hall. You will head for Xi'an Ancient City Wall next. It is the best-preserved existing ancient city wall in China. Very well preserved and in excellent condition. There are some excellent shows in different time every day , such as, Antique City Wall Gate Opening Ceremony, Acrobatics Show. If you are available to arrive there in the show time, it's a good chance for you to take a closer glimpse of Chinese culture. Riding bicycles on the city wall not included. Good time always flies fast.
